He was predeceased by: his former wife Joan Athans (Rundio); his parents, Gustave Sr. Athans and Antoinette Riske Athans; and his sister Charlotte Athans. He is survived by: his children, Thomas, Joseph Athans, Mary Smith (Todd), Nicholas Athans (Linda), Antoinette Davault (Jeff) and James Athans (Kim); his grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha (Riley), David and Jacob; and his sister Sandra Sokolowski (Dave) of Chicago.
