With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gale Hunerkoch of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Hunerkoch and Evelyn Hunerkoch (Dummeier); his stepfather Alvin Horstman; his wife Ellen "Corky" Hunerkoch; and his brother Wayne Hunerkoch.
He is survived by: his children, Chrissy Mayer (Mindy), Valerie Hunerkoch, Lori Hunerkoch (Delores Powell) and Angie Hunerkoch; his grandchildren, Jessica Buurman (Rich), Timothy Dorobiala, Noel Rutar, Shelby Ashley (Dalton), Laisha Mayer, Zion Mayer, Chris Powell and Jon Powell; his great grandchildren, Meagan, Stokelyn, Lidia and J. J.; and his siblings, Margie Obermark and Earl Hunerkoch (Dixie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
