He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Smith and Connie Smith; and his brother Richard Smith. He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Susan Wieneke (Dwayne) of Metropolis, Carolyn Dail (Dennis) of Roswell, GA and Fred Smith (Elizabeth) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wieneke (John) of Murray, KY, Jennifer Hawthorne (Mitch) of Murphysboro, IL, Luke Wieneke (Jessie) of Paducah, KY, Becky Leach (Jordan) of Atlanta, GA and Christy Dail of Atlanta, GA; and his great grandchildren, Madisyn Hawthorne and Lincoln Wieneke.

Memorial contributions may be given in Donald's name to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Memorial Fund, 315 E. 3rd Street, Metropolis, IL 62960.
