With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Wesley May of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on December 22, 2020 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Charles and Minnie May (King); his wife Florence May; his daughter Norma Jean Huss; his siblings, Mary Wemhoener, Frank May, Ed May, Richard May and Lindell May; and his close friend Lela Volle.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry May (Carolyn) of Paducah, KY and Steve May (Stacey) of Metropolis, IL; his grandchildren, Robert May (Lori) of Franklin, TN, Ben Huss (Katrina) of Wingo, KY, Jeremy Huss (Kim) of Boaz, KY, Aaron May (Sarah) and Ashley Jill Parr of Metropolis, IL; his great grandchildren, Danielle Smith (Curtis) of Smyrna, TN, Nicolas May of Franklin, TN, Tiffany McClure (Mitchell) of Raleigh, NC, Kassandra Huss of Wingo, KY, Lauren Bechtold (Travis) of Paducah, KY, Madyson, Jonathan, Maci, Amelia, Casen, Oliver Huss of Boaz, KY, Landon May, Lauryn and Logan Parr of Metropolis; his great great grandchildren, Cass, Thomas, Elijah Smith of Smyrna, TN and Easton Bechtold of Paducah, KY; and his brother Wilburn May (Genevieve). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
We ask that those attending the service wear a face covering and practice customarily accepted social distancing.
