He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sr. Barfield and Mary Minner Barfield; his siblings, Dwight C., Mary of Virginia, Betty Charlene and Ruth Nell "Hopsy" Barfield; his parents-in-law, Velma and Vance Taylor; his siblings-in-law, Robert "Hawk" Taylor, Dr. James L. Bremer, Gerald Comer and Betty Jones Barfield; and his nieces and nephews, Mike Barfield, Jeremy Taylor, Sarah Cox Brown and Gretchen Comer.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ann Taylor of Metropolis; his daughter Susan Alexandria (Cal) of Bloomington; his granddaughter Cate; his daughter Sharlin Barfield of Davenport, Iowa; his grandson Alex of Bloomington, Indiana; his sisters-in-law, Carol Taylor of Metropolis, Jo Ellen Taylor of Las Vegas, Marie Taylor of Murray and Marilyn Barfield of Metropolis; and his brother Jack Barfield (Joanne) of Pekin, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
