Billy R. Tanner Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billy R. Tanner of Metropolis, Illinois, who passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping Billy's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Tanner and Reakie Tanner; and his friend Phil Holt. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Tanner; his daughters, Jenean Cagle (Bret) of Marshall, IL and Marsha Parker (Keith) of Metropolis, IL; and his stepdaughter Lisa Davis (Keith) of Metropolis, IL. He is also survived by three grandchildren; two step granddaughters; four great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery (4197 Hillerman Rd, Grand Chain, IL 62941).
