She was predeceased by: her parents, Bonner Ragsdale and Laura Ragsdale; her granddaughter Ashley Witherspoon; her niece Sydney Edwards; and her brother-in-law Richard Edwards.

She is survived by: her husband Charles Austin; her sons, Jon Cary Austin and Charles Gregory Austin (MaryJo); her grandson Cameron Blake Austin (Lindsay); her great grandchildren, Cameron, Crayson and Banks; her sister Phyllis Edwards; and her nephew Jeff Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given in Barbara's name to a cancer-related charity of your choosing.
