He was predeceased by: his parents, Burnett "Buck" Eugene and Mary Louise Fierce Tompkins; his stepfather Peter Stutsman; his daughter Pamela Tompkins; his sisters, Sandra McMillen (Susie) and Jody McCamey; and his brother-in-law Bill McCamey.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer L. Bresnahan (Tompkins) of Lakewood, CO and Brian Kleen (Terri) of Metamora; his grandchildren, Mason Hagaman (Emma) of Lakewood, CO, Matthew Bresnahan of Lakewood, CO, Molly Bresnahan of Lakewood, CO, Jessica Scheirer (Michael) of East Peoria, Michael Kleen (Cheyanne) of Roanoke, Zachary Kleen (Samantha) of Washburn and Margaret Kleen of Metamora; his great grandchildren, Adalynne Kleen of Roanoke, Carson and Charlotte Kleen of Washburn; and his brother R. Dennis Tompkins (Linda) of Morton. He is also survived by three brother-in-laws; two sister-in-laws; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM and on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (415 W Chatham St, Metamora, IL 61548).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Grade School of Metamora.
