It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Lee Simmons of Metamora, Illinois, born in Davenport, Iowa, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Simmons and Mabel Simmons (Coats); and his wife Margaret Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Knussman (Mike) of East Peoria, IL and Matt Simmons (late Ava) of Peoria; his grandchildren, Andy Simmons of Chillicothe, IL, Jodi Schwindenhammer (Johnnie) of Dunlap, IL and Amanda Meier (Matt) of Indianapolis, IN; his great grandchildren, Blake, Ariana Schwindenhammer, Jesse, Benjamin and Caleb Meier; and his sister Sandra Tank (Wesley) of Ames, IA..
