He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Smith and Mabel Smith (Simmons); his wife Lora A. Thompson; his children, Ronald Smith and Carole Wernsman; and his grandson Phillip Force.
He is survived by: his children, Beverly Krumwiede (Lyle) of Metamora, Tracy Smith (late Charlotte) of Metamora and Jeffrey Smith (Rose) of Spring Bay; and his son-in-law Kevin Wernsman of Germantown Hills. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
