He was predeceased by: his father Tony; his sons, Gregory and Daniel Smith; and his brother Anthony Smith. He is survived by: his brother-in-law Rick; his mother Mary Ann; his son Ben Smith; his siblings, Ed Smith, Kim Gott (Rick) and Wanda Bunzell (Tony); and his granddaughter Aleeha Smith. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
