It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas R. Whalen of Mendota, Illinois, born in Streator, Illinois, who passed away on June 3, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Whalen and Helen Whalen (Grennan); and his brother Patrick. He is survived by: his wife Beth Schneider of Mendota; his siblings, Bill Whalen (Vickie) of Rockford, Jim Whalen (Nancy) of Onalaska, WI, Nancy Whalen-Strouss (Bob) of Urbana and Karen Whalen-Ward (Jack) of Geneva; his nieces and nephews, Barry Whalen (Erin), B. J. Whalen (Jamie), Bryson Whalen (Kristin), Chris Whalen (Sadie), Ben Whalen (Abby), Taylor Schneider, Tara Schneider and Seneca Schneider (Matt Wagner); his mother-in-law Marilyn Tomsha of Sparta, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Lisa Schneider of Naples, FL, Todd Schneider (Pat) of Mendota and Joel Schneider (Julie Wicks) of Compton. He is also survived by 13 great nieces and nephews.
