She was predeceased by: her parents, Alfred Ponder and Mary Ponder (Morgan); her husband Fred Shirey; her siblings, Pauline Durham, Francis Davis, Wanda Joyce Ponder, Sarah Ellen Ponder, Paul Ponder and Franklin Ponder; and her grandson Aaron M. Shirey.
She is survived by: her children, Brian Shirey (Renee) of Roanoke, IL. and Karen LeRette (Jay) of Compton, IL.; her siblings, Margaret Black, Bonnie Smither, James Ponder, Robert Ponder and Edward Ponder; and her grandchildren, Melissa Orvis, Sonia Botello, Joseph LeRette, Kelsey Shirey, Ariel Delaney, Taylor Shirey, LauRen Jimenez, Sabrina LaFayette and Benny Snider.
