He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gard and Jeanette Gard (Armstrong); his siblings, Julia Weisman (Margaret Lindsey) and George Gard; and his brother-in-law Dan Weisman.
He is survived by: his grandson Jim; his wife Betty Ann of Mendota; his children, John Gard (Linda) of Oglesby, Brian Gard of Mendota and Patricia Kim (Kyle) of Mendota; his grandchildren, John Gard Jr., Christopher Gard, Nathaniel Kim, Allyson Kim, Allen Gard and Gabrielle Gard; his sister Elynor Kay Nance (Ray) of Athens; and his siblings-in-law, Elaine Gard of Stevens Point, WI. and Charles Lindsey of Middleton, IL..
