As we bid adieu to Darlene's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Darlene has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Rod and Gladys Rod (Ansteth). She is survived by: her husband Harold Meisel of John's Parsonage; her siblings, Charlotte Coates, Virginia Piller, Marjorie Anderson and Donald; her foster brother Jonny-Norbert Horstman; and her sister Mary Jane Bradford of Oklahoma. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home (800 Monroe St, Mendota, IL 61342). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her honor to MASS or St. Johns Lutheran Church of Mendota.
