He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Gerdes and Anna Leenerts Gerdes; and his siblings, Dorothy Passley, Vera Marie Oenning, Velda June Beebe, Lawrence and Leroy Gerdes.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Lepper Timmerwilke; his children, Roger Melvin Gerdes of Golden, IL, Alan Wayne Gerdes (Dianna) of Camp Point, IL and Tammy Sue Gerdes of Camp Point, IL; his stepdaughter Annette Marie England (Timmerwilke) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Matthew Gerdes of Kahoka, MO, Andrew Gerdes of Golden, IL and Nicole Feldkamp of LaGrange, MO; and his stepgrandchildren, Dana Howell (Daniel) of Mt. Sterling, IL, Daniel White (Lacy) of Kinderhook, IL, Daven White (Abbey) of Mendon, IL and Autumn England of Quincy, IL. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
