She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Thompson and Viola Turner; and her grandson Frederick Blackwell. She is survived by: her husband Fred D. Shurn; her daughters, Tammy M. Washington, Tonya M. Jeudy and Trina M. Hardiman; her grandchildren, Rickey Blackwell, Taiyana Shurn, Bruce Shurn, Mario Williams and Matthew Welch; and her siblings, Marilyn, Billy and Grenel.
