Karen Lee Fatta Obituary
After a long battle with her illness, Karen Lee "Kari" Fatta passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2022, at Pacifica Spring Valley in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was 62 years old.
Karen was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin. She moved to Joliet, Illinois, as a child with her parents. Karen and her husband, Louis, were married in 2001 and resided in Melrose Park, Illinois, before they both relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Karen spent her life helping others. She was recognized for her exemplary work. Karen earned her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. She was also certified in Infection Control. Karen worked in long-term care for a large part of her career. She also worked for Rush Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois, where she was Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Age-Wise program. Karen always had a kind word and smile for everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Her loving husband of 21 years, Louis V. Fatta of Las Vegas, NV; her mother, Nancy Smith (nee Stevens) of Eau Claire, WI; brother, Scott Smith (Krista) and family of Eleva, WI; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Fatta of Melrose Park, IL; survive her. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Halvorson; stepfather Thomas Smith; sister Roxanne Hancock (Clay); and father-in-law, Louis M. Fatta.
A funeral Mass was held for Karen on November 16th, 2022, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her final resting place is at Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
