He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rita Lauermann; his children, Mark (Robin), Brian and Michelle Cappellucci (Steven); and his sister Pearl Kelly (late James). He was also cherished by many Nieces and Nephews.

“My condolences to the family. Eddie and I were coworkers at American Mattress, and we talked on the phone nearly every day when we were both at work. We were also practically neighbors. We lived about a mile and a half from each other in Oak Forest. I had been to his home a few times. I was proud to call Eddie a friend and am sad knowing he left us so abruptly; but I am content knowing he's in a better place. I'll see you again someday, my friend. Again, my sympathies go out to his family.”
