He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Patterson and Mary Patterson (Lipe); his sister Mary Wright; and his cousin Gerard. He is survived by: his wife Tina Spencer; his son Charlie Patterson (Lexie); his grandson Chase Patterson; and his siblings, Steve Patterson (Bonnie), Pam Ealey (Homer) and Jackie Patterson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Protective League in Springfield.
