He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Ray and Venetta Fern Watkins (Wake); his former wife Barbara Jo (Mills); his wife Karen Watkins (Patton); his siblings, Jan Lowery, Joyce Bennett and Lyle Watkins; and his great grandchildren, Gatlin and Wesson Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Watkins II (Karen) and Melisa Galloway; his stepchildren, Patti Beaman (Ron), Debi Matthews (Robert), Lester Edwards and Bob Edwards (Dana); and his siblings, LeRoy Watkins (Stevie Benedict) and Jacquie Kirby (Don). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to South Tower Community Church.
