It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Downing of Mechanicsburg, Illinois, born in Harristown, Illinois, who passed away on November 4, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, F. Ray Downing and Dorothy F. Bramel Downing; his wife Rose Mary Arnold; and his sister Barb Downing. He is survived by: his children, Mark (Erin) of Buffalo, Mike (Lori) of Mechanicsburg and Cindy Ford (Rick) of Chatham; his grandchildren, Megan Carls (Evan), Garrett Downing, Alyssa Castor (David), Lindsey Downing, Angie, Mike Ford, Maggie and Chas Mosley; his great grandchildren, Jack and Charlie Castor; his sister Pat Miers of Decatur; and his close friend Sue Allen of Taylorville.
