Gene Mekley Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene Mekley of McNabb, Illinois, who passed away on June 9, 2021 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mekley and Mayme Mekley (Harseim); his son Ricky; and his siblings, Nora Lee Sipe (Harold), Irene Kuhne (Marion), Dorothy Johnson (Jim) and John.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Nauman; his children, Paula Colburn (Kim) of Katy, Darla Eckert (Mike) of Henry and Jeff Mekley of Henry; his grandchildren, Bailey, Paige Mekley, Tanner, Kelsey, Trevor Davie and Rachel Eckert; and his siblings, Elmer Mekley (Donna) and Gladys King (Jim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mekley family for contributions to the Putnam County Community Center, the Heartland Healthcare Center and Marshall-Putnam Fair Association.
