He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Skropka and Gloria Skropka (Mayberry); his birth mother Rosalie Skropka (Wasik); and his brother Darrell Skropka. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Skropka (Wilson) of McLeansboro; his children, Cathy Gangard (David) of Eldorado, IL and Robert Skropka (Andrea) of Christopher, IL; his grandchildren, Robert Gangard (Nicole Rector) of Eldorado, Lillian Gangard of Eldorado, Makayla Stratton of Christopher, Aidan Skropka of Christopher and Trevin Skropka of Christopher; and his siblings, Ganice Skropka of O'Fallon, IL, Jane Crowder of Harrisburg, IL, Paula Henderson (Bryan) of Centralia, IL and Vance Skropka of Dale, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gholson Funeral Home- McLeansboro (500 S Washington St, McLeansboro, IL 62859). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at the Prospect Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
