It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Irene Swafford of McLeansboro, Illinois, who passed away on January 30, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Prince and Louise Prince (Helms); her husband Matthew Swafford; her daughter Brenda Claybrooke; her siblings, Marvin Prince, Carl Prince, Challie Prince and Joan Reyling; her grandson Bryan Miller; and her great grandchild Landon Cross.
She is survived by: her daughter LaDonna Miller of McLeansboro; and her grandchildren, Brad (Pam Miller) of McLeansboro, Bruce Miller of Mt. Vernon, IL, Beverley (Buddy Vaught) of Carmi, IL, Becky (Bob Cross) of McLeansboro, Kimberly Tungate (Shannon Roach) of New Albany, IN and Robin (Steve Morton) of New Albany, IN. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hamilton County Senior Citizens Center, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in Mcleansboro.
