He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Wood and Pauline Wood (Oliver); his stepfather O. C. Lee; his son David Roger Wood; and his siblings, James M. Lee, Everett "Corky" Wood and Jerry M. Lee.
He is survived by: his wife Patti Byerley Wood of McLeansboro; his children, Fred Wood, Jr. of Aransas Pass, TX and Sherry Dooley (John) of Camden, AR; his grandchildren, Ashley, Roxanna, Krista and Chelsea; his daughter Dortha Boatright (Dale) of Anna, IL; his grandchildren, Kyle, Olivia, Sylvia and Grace; his daughter Betty Akins (Bob) of McLeansboro; his grandchildren, Dylan Cottonaro (Michaela), Brandon Cottonaro, Dalton and Hannah Akins; and his siblings, Dewayne Lee Wood (Sue) of Texas, Janice Elmore of Texas, John Lee of Texas and Robin Griffith (Donald) of Texas. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
