We are sad to announce that on February 12, 2021, at the age of 101, Effie Smith (McLeansboro, Illinois), born in Hamilton, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Effie Smith to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Bobbie Trout and Mabel Trout (Bond); her son Gary Darvin Smith; her siblings, Herschel, Orlan, Kenneth Trout and Dollie Smith; and her daughter-in-law Carolyn Smith.

She is survived by: her spouse Marion Lewis Smith; her son Larry Dean Smith of Dawson Springs, KY; her sisters, Delsie Lynch of McLeansboro, IL, Elsie York of McLeansboro, IL and Grace Millenbine of McLeansboro, IL; and her sister-in-law Wilma Rose of McLeansboro, IL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the donors choice and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
