He was predeceased by: his mother Alva Lance (Reed); and his siblings, Glen Lance, Beulah Cambron and Lucille Owen. He is survived by: his wife Marcella Lance (Hart) of McLeansboro; his son Steven Dale; his grandchildren, Kris (Ailene) and Sarah Hughes (Travis); his great grandchild Harper Lance; and his siblings-in-law, Richard Hart (Phyllis), Larry Hart, Robert Lee, Mary Hart, Donna Naas and Joyce Ewing (Kent). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
