Alice May Gunter Obituary

She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Meyer and Elizabeth Meyer (Swartz); her former husbands, James Johnson and Charles Gwaltney; her husband Ed Gunter; her parents-in-law, Charles and Frieda Gunter; and her siblings-in-law, Charles Everett, Barbara Johnson, Rita Gunter and Brenda Gunter.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Atkinson (Teddy) of McLeansboro and Robert Gunter (Rhonda) of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Casey, Amanda, Kyle and Dylan; and her siblings-in-law, Donald Gunter of McLeansboro, Daniel Gunter (Marline) of Springerton, IL, Janet Veteto (Noel) of McLeansboro, Fred Gunter (Penny) of McLeansboro, Ruby Everett of McLeansboro and David Gunter (Betty) of McLeansboro. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gholson Funeral Home-Dahlgren (401 W Main St, Dahlgren, IL 62828). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 at the Lindale Cemetery (409 Lindale Rd, Eldorado, IL 62930).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
