He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wayne Lewis and Dorothy Jane Basting (Gillis); his wife Catherine Metsker; his sons, Brant Basting (Alyson) of Indianapolis, IN, Reid Basting of Bloomington, IL and Bryce Basting of Chicago, IL.; his brothers, Warren Basting (Julia) of Normal, IL and Brian Basting of Bloomington, IL.; his sons, Bell Lap Track and Field; and his friend Bruce Jones (Pam Caywood).
