It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Paul Zachar of McHenry, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on November 6, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Zachar and Barbara "Tillie" Zachar; and his brother James Zachar. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Gene Zachar Jr. (Jennifer) and Shelly Thompson (Cory); his stepson Wayne Lyng (Joy); his brother Bill Zachar; and his nieces and nephews, Jacqueline and Kyle Kus. He is also survived by many neighbors and friends.
