With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward Charles Bender of McHenry, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 8, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Sal Mistretta and Howard Mayhew; his nephew Michael Bender; and his parents, Edward Bender and Katherine.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Bender; his sons, Joe (Erica), Dan (Erika), Ed (Lori), John (Alison) and Bill (Janessa); and his siblings, Tom Bender and Marie Mayhew. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
