We are sad to announce that on July 25, 2018, at the age of 85, Walter Albert Mueller (Mattoon, Illinois), born in Effingham, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Mueller and Marie Mueller (Thoma); his siblings, Tom Mueller and Ruth Bennett; and his siblings-in-law, Carroll Bennett, Leroy Ziegler and Doris McWhorter.
He is survived by: his spouse Virginia Ziegler; his daughters, Debbie Devall (Bob) of Effingham, IL, Barb Carr (Dave) of Lake Ridge, VA and Janet Leikip (Tim) of Waupaca, WI; his grandchildren, Matt Devall, Mark Devall (Latisha), Emily Carr, Claire Carr, Tony Leikip (Emily), Andrea Long (Joe) and Emilie Poye; his great grandchildren, Carson, Izzabella, Alex, Ted, Frank, Morris and Henry; his brother John Mueller of Effingham, IL; and his sister-in-law Beulah Ziegler of Shumway, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his honor are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project or Mattoon Community Food Center.
