He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Wheeler and Vernie Wheeler (Stanfield); and his sister Sue Gast. He is survived by: his children, Megan Wheeler, Blake Wheeler, Season Ervin (Cole) and Claire Wheeler; his grandchildren, Kingston, Vivian, Beckett Wheeler, Jett, Eve and Judd Ervin; his siblings, Alfred "Bud" Wheeler (Valerie), Peggy Sims and Vicki Glaze; and his close friend John Bailey.
Memorial donations in his honor are suggested to the Coles County Animal Shelter, 6818 North County Road 1120 East, Charleston, IL 61920.
