With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stephen W. Watkins of Mattoon, Illinois, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on April 6, 2024 at the age of 66. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Crowell Webb Watkins and Mary Louise Watkins (Montgomery); his siblings, Crowell Watkins Jr. and Nancy Gerdas; and his stepson Nathan Tipsword.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Watkins (Hampton) of Mattoon, IL; his stepchildren, Daniel Tipsword of Mattoon, IL and Brittney Tipsword of Mattoon, IL; and his sisters, Kathy Kirkham of Mattoon, IL, Karen Barhorst (Dennis) of Mattoon, IL, Ann Bolles of Atlantic Beach, FL, Jan Crews of Tarpon Springs, FL and Rebecca Craig (Rick) of Mattoon, IL. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to the Watkins Family.
