He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Trog and Thelma Trog (Ellington); and his former wife Brenda Martin. He is survived by: his wife Donna Jean Cole (Elder); his daughter Bobbie Woolbright (Jim); his stepdaughters, Holly Morgan (Ben) and Amanda Bryant (Keith); his grandchildren, Jeremy McConnaha, Heather Golden (John), Heidi Ethington and Justin Tribble; his stepgrandchildren, Amelia Morgan, Cole Morgan (Lacee), Jenna Bryant, Michael Bryant and Miranda Bryant; his sister Shirley Frisch; and his pets, Lil Bit and Mickey. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor may be given to the First Baptist Church of Mattoon or the Coles County Animal Shelter.
