It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Meyer of Mattoon, Illinois, born in Iowa City, Iowa, who passed away on January 21, 2022, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Leonal Meyer and Thelma Josephine Meyer; and his sister Joanna Renee Meyer. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Meyer (Dowell Schafer); his daughter Savanna Meyer (Nicholas Hanna) of Iowa Falls, IA; his grandchildren, Hunter Huston, Gracen Huston, Alyvia Huston and Pyper Hanna; his stepdaughter Danielle Hanson of Belmond, IA; his stepgrandchildren, James Hanson, Chrissy Hanson, Nevaeh Hanna and Jonas Hanson; his stepson David Schafer of Mattoon, IL.; his sister Kathy Davis (Steve); his nieces, Jamie Cummins and Jennie Courtney; his nephew Jesse Davis (Laurel); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Connor, Carrie Cummins, Taryn, Emersyn Courtney, Alana and Steve Davis. He is also survived by his wife and their two dogs, cat, and two birds.
