It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Eugene Behl of Mattoon, Illinois, born in Canton, Ohio, who passed away on July 22, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Robert and Della Rose Behl (Robinson); his son-in-law Pete Simpson; and his great grandchildren, Chelsea Simpson and Kaitlyn Simpson.
He is survived by: his former spouse Sandy Hurst; his wife Carol Behl; his children, Rosemary Behl (Scott Markley), Amanda Collins, Kenneth Behl, William Carter (Tammy), Anna Cowart (Daniel Stites), Amy Carter (Tracy Hartmann), Larry Eugene Jr. Carter (Kim), Patty Simpson, David Jenkins (Leslie), Shelly Devall and Mary Kay Epperson (Brenden); and his siblings, Diane Cohoon (Bob) and John Behl (Debbie). He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to Schilling Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
