He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barber and Gladys Barber (Coffey); his wife Mary Lou Wente; his brothers, Andrew and Wayne; his granddaughter Dana Lynn; and his son-in-law Jim Shafer.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Shafer of Taylorville, Kenneth Barber (Velma) of Merced, CA, Sharon Holderfield (Terry) of Mattoon and Ronald Barber (Annie) of Charleston; his grandchildren, David Dickerson (Jenny), Joe Shafer (Patty), Dacia Nisbet (Tim Passoni), Jonathan Barber (Stephanie), Jeff Barber, Ellyn Barber (Steve Bower), Emily Barber, Kendra Saal (Jeremy), Kenneth Barber and Anthony Barber; his great grandchildren, Averi Nisbet, Kynnedi Goldstein, Korbyn Passoni, Quynn Passoni, Noah Passoni, Jasmyn Passoni, Andrew Saal, Nicholas Saal, Isabella Saal, Nicholas Norman, Laney Dickerson, Molly Shafer, Jack Shafer, Ian Barber, Colin Barber, Haven Bower, Kaya Bower and Leona Bower; his siblings, Jack Barber (Lucy) of Lexington, KY and Joyce Oakley (Marvin) of Casey; and his siblings-in-law, Pat Kuhns of Effingham, Alice Fisher of Springfield, JoAnn Wente of Springfield and Mike Wente. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
