It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Allen Cross of Mattoon, Illinois, born in Effingham, Illinois, who passed away on January 5, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father George Cross-Smith. He is survived by: his mother Helen Rose Cross-Smith (Cross); his wife Kathryn Cross (Coker); his daughter Emily Merritt (Tyler) of Chillicothe, OH; his grandchildren, Creisen Cross, Erica and Chad; and his sisters, Sharon Monroe (Wayne) of Neoga, IL, Linda Gentry (Steve) of Neoga, IL, Joyce Strader (Sam) of Springfield, IL, Nancy Tryon (Glen) of Campoint, IL and Janice Niemyer (Nick) of Teutopolis, IL. He is also survived by five nieces and six nephews and several great nieces and nephews; and best friend.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to the family.
