Phyllis Carolyne Gaines (Calhoun), Mattoon Illinois
Born in Wilmington, Illinois on April 21, 1942
She went to be with Jesus on Feb 19, 2025. Phyllis was preceded by her husband Woodrow Steven Gaines (of 61 years), and son Curtis Wayne Gaines. Twin Boys (Dale & Dean) Her parents, (Lester and Laura Calhoun.) She leaves behind 3 Daughters Linda (Wayne) Carmon of Mattoon Illinois. Theresa (Steve) Williams of Salem Illinois and Kimbery (Christine) Simpson of Florida. She also left behind her companion- that loved her very much. Great Grand- puppy (Addi Willow.) Phyllis loved visits from people but especially her grandkids & great grandkids and she would make sure she got her a Hug before they would leave each time. She loved watching tv and listening to Christian music and anything the color of purple. Before end stage dementia she attended First Baptist Church of Apopka Florida. Phyllis wishes were to rest with Woodrow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetary of Elwood, Ilinois on May 16, 2025.
