He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Godden and Blanche Godden (Short); and his brothers, Ray Godden, Jerry Godden and Larry Dean Godden.

He is survived by: his wife Nellie Godden; his children, Kim Snowden (Dave), Diana Davis, Rick Godden (Tiffany) and Dan Godden (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Ryan Snowden (Anna), Patric Snowden, Ian Snowden, Whitney Godden, Corey Godden, Danielle Godden, Aaron Godden, Dane Fitt (Kristin), Gunner Davis and Emma Davis; his great grandchildren, Gadsden, Ayriana, Adelyn and Lennox; and his siblings, David Godden (Patty), Randy Godden (Debbie) and Freida Cisna (Dave).

Memorial donations in his honor are suggested to Shriners Hospital for Children.
