She was predeceased by: her parents, John Whightsel and Elsie Whightsel (Martins); her husband Herbert L. Chaney; her former husband Larry French; her son Randy French; her siblings, Loren Whightsel, Marcell Martins and Gloria Nuxoll; and her great grandchild MaKenzee Rogers.

She is survived by: her children, Angie Ritter (Tim) of Mattoon, IL, Pam Beals (Mike) of Mattoon, IL and Jeff French of Charleston, IL; her stepson Rick Chaney; and her grandchildren, Amanda Arena (Nick) of Mattoon, IL, Sydnee French of Trilla, IL, Heather Tolen (Andrew) of Trilla, IL, Josh Rogers, Colton Bloxom of Mattoon, IL, Alex French of Mattoon, IL, Sarah Cripe of Mattoon, IL, Terry Chaney and Jesse Chaney. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in her honor may be given to the American Legion Post 88.
