He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smith and Sarah Smith (Reed); his son Gary Smith; and his sisters, Virginia Skinner and Louis Ogelsby Per.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Smith, Richard Smith, Kevin Smith (Jenny), Randy Smith, Karen Thompson, Donna Eson, Marsha Ellinger (Sam) and Michele Luttrell (Jerry); and his sister Helen Morgan. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
