He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Koester and Lola Floyd Koester; and his brother-in-law Rex Smock. He is survived by: his wife Annabelle Koester of Mattoon, IL; his children, John Ross Koester, Jr. (Shirley) of Wimberley, TX and Julie Ann Greeson (Mike) of Marion, IL; his granddaughter Christy Michelle Stone (Jared) of Mattoon, IL; and his siblings, William G. Koester (Rena) of Mattoon, IL and Helen Smock of Mattoon, IL. He is also survived by one step grandson; two step great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Disabled Veterans Association or Lincolnland Hospice.
