He is survived by: his wife Renita Simmons of Mattoon, IL; his children, Johnny Simmons (Christina) of Griffin, Sabrina Simmons of Stockbridge, GA, Melody Simmons of Mattoon, IL and Rachel Simmons of Mattoon, IL; his grandchildren, Blake Banister, Brianna Simmons and Taylor Simmons; and his siblings, Gary Simmons of Jeffersonville, IN, Gail Chambley (Robert) of Griffin, GA, David Simmons (Treva) of Metter, GA and Angie McDaniel (Darrell) of Griffin, GA.. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations in his honor may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
