It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herman Paul Spain Jr. of Mattoon, Illinois, who passed away on December 24, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley Jo Spain; and his siblings, Clay Conran "Boob" Spain Sr. and Lou Mildred Ard. He is survived by: his siblings, Donna Farrier, Dave Spain and Mary Towle; and his stepson Mike Glasscock.

Memorial donations in his honor may be given to Sullivan Chapter Ambucs.
