She was predeceased by: her parents, Walton Bown and Lola Mae Bown (Coleman); her husband Robert Carter; her son Burton Charles Carter; her great grandchild Joshua Ryan Schneider; and her sister Charlotte Upton.
She is survived by: her sons, Kenneth Carter (Luann) of Farmington, NY, Steven Carter of Mattoon, IL and Scott Carter (Nancy) of Mattoon, IL. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations in her honor may be given to Camp New Hope.
