We are sad to announce that on March 12, 2024, at the age of 89, Ellen Lane of Mattoon, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, L. Lyle Downing and O. Ellen Downing (Donaldson); her spouse Jerry "Dizzy" Lane; her siblings, Lou Downing and Marjorie Fry; and her sister-in-law Betty Rice.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Lane of Mattoon, IL and Eric Lane (Jane) of Babcock Ranch, FL; her grandchildren, Jennah Lane of Tampa, FL and Scott Lane of Chicago, IL; her sister Susie Miller (Larry); and her sisters-in-law, Patty Griffin of Mattoon, IL and Phyllis Downing of Hannibal, MO..
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in her honor may be given to Willow Breeze (Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice House) 1004 Health Center Dr. Prairie Pavilion 2, Mattoon, IL 61938 or St. John's Lutheran Church.
