It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cleo Ellen Redfern of Mattoon, Illinois, born in Greenwood, Missouri, who passed away on March 24, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lewis and Della May Hatfield (Zimmerman); her husband Rodney F. Redfern; her siblings, Robert Hatfield, Claude Hatfield, Russell Hatfield, Harry Hatfield, Harley Hatfield, Rose Easton, Bessie Rhodelander, Hazel Spradling and Sharon K. Byrd; and her great grandchild Tremell Lones Shinholster.
She is survived by: her children, Della Mae Ritchey (John), Rodney F. Redfern Jr., Donald Eugene Redfern (Sheri), John William Redfern (Elizabeth), Melissa Ann Johnson (Denis) and Penny Shinholster; and her sister Dorothy Ponder. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Memorial donations in her honor may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
